Developed countries such as the United Kingdom have disease surveillance structures in place to monitor human illnesses that may result from food contamination. In the United Kingdom, this surveillance is predominantly the responsibility of the Health Policy Agency (HPA). If an outbreak is detected, action is then taken to identify and control the source. In addition, the HPA is involved in monitoring long-term trends in infections. This information has been used to support measures to protect public health. For example, in the United Kingdom the official report on the Stanley Royd outbreak of Salmonella typhimurium in 1984, which resulted in 19 deaths (), led to food safety improvements. If foodborne outbreaks are detected or abnormalities identified through food monitoring, then food chain traceability is essential to identify the source of contamination. The EU General Food Law Regulation contains requirements for food chain traceability ().

There is a simple way to get around this problem: check what references Wikipedia is using and then read those sources and extract your information from there. For example, if you are reading a Wikipedia entry on LTE, and you find information that is pertinent to your paper, you can check Wiki's reference by clicking on the small reference number and then the link it provides. If it's not from an open database, then use your University of Maryland Libraries Research Port to find that article and read it, just as described in the section. You may then use that article as a reference.
A specific in vitro diagnostic instrument contained approximately 175,000lines of source code and approximately 1,600 software requirements that neededto be traced. While the division also has an automated traceability system(ATS) that allowed them to automate many of the tasks, it was the process andnot the tool that led to their success. The main purpose of the traceabilityprogram is to identify links and determine that the links are complete andaccurate. The traceability analysis consists of 4 aspects: forward requirementsanalysis, reverse requirements trace, forward test analysis, and reverse testtrace. These steps are used to trace each software requirement through itsdesign elements and test traces. The ATS can be used to design documentationmatrices and test matrices that is used to perform the different analysesrequired. The ATS is also able to give feedback about the design componentsthat are not yet implemented during the life cycle. In the test phase, the ATSgives input to what requirements are covered by the test cases. [Watkins94]
This review was not a formal systematic review due to the breadth of the topic. Instead, we began by conducting interviews with eight of the authors (G.B., A.B.A.B., A.D., S.F.-T., M.H., P.R.H., G.N., and K.W.W.) who were chosen for their knowledge of a range of issues related to climate change and food security. The aim of these interviews was to ascertain how climate change might interact with food and then to identify the main research projects and key papers dealing with these issues. This allowed us to set out the main structure of the review. The results of the interviews were used to begin to identify the main issues to be explored, in conjunction with a broad-based literature review using . To fill in important gaps, we carried out specific focused searches in additional databases [including MEDLINE (), , , and ] to find key references. Initially, the search focused on reviews in the relevant areas published in the peer-reviewed and gray literature. These were then supplemented through specific searches for additional relevant primary and secondary research. The results were summarized, with established answers and remaining questions highlighted. The first draft of the review summarizing the work was sent to the eight experts for comments. These comments were incorporated into the review and further searching of the literature conducted if required. Finally, the review was evaluated by experts from the U.K. Food Standards Agency (FSA).
