An associate principal at Perkins Eastman, Brian has over 20 years of experience in the planning, design and management of a range of project types, including educational, recreational and community buildings. He approaches each project as a thoughtful collaboration between architectural, engineering and consultant teams, using focused research and his extensive project experience to successfully integrate unconventional engineering solutions with sound architectural design.
Brian is an active leader of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), serving as Northern Virginia Chapter President in 2011, and as a Director of the Virginia Society AIA since 2012. As an advocate for sustainable design, he has presented his research in architecture, human comfort and climate at several industry conferences, and teaches studios in environmental design at Catholic University.

In Giaa’s more than ten years at Perkins Eastman, her approach to design-as-journey has found particular resonance in our Cultural practice. She is currently leading the design for the Ruane Development Center at Providence College, a complex of athletic facilities and student center that will create a new heart for the campus. Her previous work at the American Museum of Natural History: Hall of Human Origins transformed an existing space into an exhibition and public hall that, despite different programs with various characters, reflects the Museum’s vision. She also worked on the now-iconic TKTS Booth.
Prior to joining Perkins Eastman, Giaa worked on housing design, including affordable and luxurious condominiums in Santa Monica, California.

His projects feature a broad range of scales and typologies, including cultural, civic, commercial, housing, hospitality, and master plans. As part of the firm’s design leadership he curates and organizes in-house discussions on the creative process. Andrés brings a research-driven approach to the design process, crafting contextual solutions and balancing the complex needs of the design brief. He leads projects from concept through construction, investigating multiple facets of the project — from the urban scale to technical details.
Andrés holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University. He is a licensed architect registered in the State of New York and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
